Which size?
The universal shelf comes in 8×8, 8×16 and 16×16 studs. Match it to your build's footprint, or build straight onto the studded base — it's LEGO-compatible, so a scene can grow out of the shelf itself. Builds of the same footprint sit into it without any base of their own.
Set-specific or universal?
The 75270 and 75386 shelves are cut to their set's exact footprint, so the build drops in and looks made for the wall. The universal shelf is for everything else: vignettes, modular sections, minifigure scenes, your own creations, and any set that lives on a base rather than in the air.
How it mounts
Two steps. Screw the shelf to the wall with the included fastener kit, then place or build your set on it. There's no bracket showing from the front, which is the whole point of a floating shelf.
What it's made of
Baltic birch plywood, cut in the USA.
Wall mount or shelf?
A wall mount holds a set off the wall at an angle — right for ships and vehicles. A shelf holds a set on a flat base — right for buildings, dioramas and anything with a ground plane. If you're unsure, ask us.
What kind of wall?
The kit includes screws and drywall anchors. Best mounted to a stud in the wall. Can be mounted to masonry with masonry anchors (not included).
What's in the box
The shelf, the LEGO-compatible base (universal shelf), screws and drywall anchors. No LEGO included.
